Tabitha made a difference right where she lived. We know about her because God raised her from the dead. But before that, according to her story in Acts 9:36-42, she was well-loved because she “was always doing good and helping the poor” (NIV). Apparently, she made clothes for the poor (verse 39). She just did what she could to make a difference right where she lived. As a result, not only were people clothed and the poor helped, but (after her resurrection) many people believed in the Lord! The goal of our local outreach is similar: to simply make a difference right here where we live, helping people with their needs and leading them toward Jesus Christ.
To serve the local Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing community, we provide a worship service in American Sign Language for the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing most Sundays and, on the last Sunday of the month and other special occasions, we provide an interpreter at our Hearing-and-Deaf Sunday morning worship services. We also provide a weekly Bible study in English and ASL.
Participants in the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing Bible Study talk (with their hands) about the life of Jesus.
